This year marks 85 years since the Bratislava company Tauš settled in Myjava. It served as a foundation for Slovenská armatúrka Myjava which employed over 5,000 employees during its peak growth, and it exported its products worldwide. From 2000 onward, SLOVARM has been the continuator and successor of Armatúrka in the field of production of brass fittings, plastic and PPR/PEX products.

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the fittings production tradition in Myjava, SLOVARM opened a new showroom. Over an area of 358 m2 of exhibition space and presentation panels, the entire history of Slovenská armatúrka Myjava and its direct successor, SLOVARM, is played out. Professional and lay visitors can admire the first original products, historical documents or product catalogues that reach a high technical and design level despite missing reproduction technology.

The unifying element and design motive flowing through the whole showroom is water. Its symbolic flow guides the visitor through the individual development periods of the Armatúrka up to the present exposition that displays the current range of brass fittings, plastic sanitary products, water taps, PEX-THERM and P-PR systems.

New business centre

The building containing the showroom is now home to the SLOVARM sales department and the training centre for business partners and retailers.

At the showroom opening ceremony, individuals who have contributed significantly to the establishment of SLOVARM were honoured – Ing. Ľubomír Halabrín, first director general, first production director Peter Kotvan and Ing. Josef Kohút, long-time chief technologist.

Investing in new presentation space and the business centre is part of a long-term process aimed at the modernisation and optimisation of production technology and logistics flows. This process includes the successful implementation of the SAP system, and the ongoing construction works aimed at improving the energy efficiency of buildings and the user-friendliness of premises for employees.

Doors Open Days

Following the showroom opening ceremony, SLOVARM premises were open to the public for several days. In addition to the showroom, visitors had the opportunity to explore the production facilities and familiarise themselves with the production technologies that keep alive the sanitary equipment and fittings production tradition in Myjava.

Due to the great interest that the showroom has drawn right from the first day it was opened, the company has decided to also make it accessible to the general public and it will soon announce the doors open days schedule.
